| About this INP: Here's my second game ever on this ROM, which is not really Super Glob. This is some sort of weird combination of The Glob with some Super Glob roms mixed in to change the title graphics. Anyway, I handily beat the (now) second-place score of 49K on my first man, and went on to carry all but one of my lives onto level 11, where the game ended. My 'rustiness' explains my poor showing on the final screen - I hadn't played the similar The Glob game (MAME or arcade) in over a year and a half. I'll trounce this score later, and then shore up my theglobp score a bit. Stay tuned... Game stats: Estimated total times played (this ROMset / theglobp ROMset): arcade: 0 / 120; MAME: 2 / 900; using savestates: 0 / 30. About the game in general: The Glob is in a solid third-place, as far as its rank among my all-time faves. How they could take the hardware that supports the boring, repetitive, uncolorful graphics game Pac-Man, and turn it into something this fantastic, well, let's just say I salute them (and, I rarely give out high praise !). Great (for its time) graphics, sounds, and gameplay (especially), this one is pretty much the perfect game, other than it (perhaps) ramping up the difficulty about twice as fast as it should. Still, I like short games, and any more than 15 minutes is too tough on this title, thus making it perfectly fit the bill... | ||||||

| How sad is this early version of "The Glob" (ROM version "THEGLOBP")? Sick sounds and limp animation / character movement are totally fixed in "The Glob", versus this mess. Still, the "roots" of a game are sometimes interesting to see... | ||||||

About this INP: After 'sitting' complacently on my score of 312,300 for over 5 years, and then getting beaten 3 years ago, I finally got off my ass, and did something about raising my mark. I extensively researched the game, played on a new (compared to my 2002 submission) path, and came up with a very nice result. But, if you want to see the real WR, check out my incredible 373,900 masterpiece, here ! This submission should stay in the top spot for a while, and if not... let someone try to top the 373K !! Game stats: Estimated total times played: arcade: 35; MAME: 600; using savestates: 80. About the game in general: This is the best game of all the Tetris variations that I've seen (other than TP 2 !). While it doesn't quite make my top 5, it's in the top 10, for sure ! The gameplay and design on the Puzzle Mode of this one is genius, and all three difficulty levels are addictive fun (with a little frustration thrown in, but not too much !). About this INP: Well, the time in the sun for the 2015 scores below this one is over... here's a real game ! This one is my best submission for the 2015 IGBY2 team tourney, and I made it after playing for just over half an hour (a bit after I saw that Zerstorung / Justin K. submitted a score closing in on my previous 'lowball' one, and I had to put up a 'crush the spirit of the competition' game, to the tune of a 100K or so increase). It's still far from my current wr of 1,982,900, but shows off my skills, and doesn't give others a look at techniques that I don't want seen (yes, crybabies... gamers have a right to keep their hard work to themselves...). Game stats: Estimated total times played on this general path (Standard diff., all ROMs): arcade: 40; MAME: 2,800; using savestates: 30. About the game in general: This is the best version of all the Tetris variations out there, IMO (tho the original, Tetris Plus, is close !), and the ingenious play mechanic of having a character on top of the blocks is at once simple, yet a challenge (and a fun one, at that !). I'll note that after only being near the cutoff of my top 10 in mid-2011, this game worked its way up to #1 soon after (yes, it replaced my former arcade wr title Crystal Castles as my all-time fave), reaching that spot somewhere around the early part of Spring 2012. The gameplay and design on the Puzzle Mode is more fun, and more of a puzzle, than the original TP, and both the Standard and the Expert modes are a great gaming experience ! This is yet another fantastic arcade title that very few players know about... Play it... NOW !!!!!!! | ||||||

About this INP: I saw a few months back that there was a new ROM dump for TP2 (actually it's basically pointless, as this is v2.1, and there's a v2.2 long-time ROM that's identical, by all appearances) so I took time out today to play 3 or 4 times. I used the 'Professor' character, instead of the more desirable (play-wise) 'Assistant', just to handicap myself. Still, all treasures are the maximum possible ones, and I was a reasonable (for the slow Prof.) 6 seconds or so from a perfect time. Game stats: Estimated total times played (this path, all ROMs): arcade: 40; MAME: 2,310; using savestates: 30. About the game in general: This is the best version of all the Tetris variations out there, IMO (tho the original TP is a nice version as well !). Since I began seriously playing this title in 2011 or so, the game has moved from being somewhere around my 7th favorite, to a firm #1 ! The gameplay and design on the Puzzle Mode is more fun, and more of a puzzle, than the original TP, and both the Standard and the Expert modes are a fantastic gaming experience ! | On this INP: I am Globmaster (again), though it wasn't easy. Still, I made it into level 10, which is a new record for me. On the game in general: Just when I thot "Super Glob" was a new low in the ancestry of "The Glob" (theglobp version), there was apparently an earlier, and WORSE, variation - and this is it. As with "theglob3", this ROM is very frustrating to play, but at least you don't have to start a board over from scratch when you lose a life, as you do on that version. Just how Epos managed to turn these stinkers into the fabulous game "The Glob" (Pac-man version) in just a few months, we may never know... | ||||||

| Here's another 'early' (and awful) version of the fantastic game "The Glob" (theglobp version), and believe me, this is some hellish heritage. Nearly identical to the 'theglob2' ROM, playing this is an excercise in unbelievable frustration. This IS hell on earth (or, computer), but, at least I finally did get into level 8, and racked up a pretty great score (and, with NO leeching !). Still, I make one simple request - PLEASE don't make me play this any more !! | ||||||
