Added 8 new recordings: BeeJay playing Exed Exes, Clu and Tyger playing Two Tigers, Dean Ryan playing Mr. Do, JoustGod playing Carnival and Crazy Climber, Rodimus Prime's friend Morrigu playing Disks of Tron and Steve Krogman showing 3 tricks on Donkey Kong.

Really added the 2 new replays that I thought I'd added last Wednesday - Capcom Bowling from Clu and a score of 10 million (!) on Xevious from Seno.

Updated the New Zealand Story page some more. It's looking pretty good now (if you're colour blind).

Woo - almost a whole week without an update! And only 8 new recordings to add? What's going on here, people? Keep 'em coming!

Moved the Tower of Druaga recording - I was calling it 'druaga' instead of 'todruaga' before.

Added 2 new replays - Capcom Bowling from Clu and a score of 10 million (!) on Xevious from Seno.

Uploaded 7 new recordings: Time Pilot 84, Bombjack, Mr Do, Burger Time, Tower of Druaga, Bobble Bobble (phear it!) and Galaga (By a whole list of people).

Added a request asking how people score so highly on Nibbler. How do you eat yours?

Received a whole lot of new recordings in the mail over the weekend, as follows:

• Tony "ACL" Driessen playing Time Pilot 84.

• Aquatarkus playing Mat Mania.

• BeeJay playing Bomb Jack, Exerion and Vulgus.

• Dith playing Mr. Do and Mr. Do's Wild Ride. The Mr. Do recordings are demonstrations rather than score attempts.

• JoustGod playing Anteater and Reactor.

• Kyle Norman playing Mario Bros. and Super Basketball.

• Nonney playing Frenzy, Traverse USA and Zaxxon.

• Seno playing Dig Dug showing Rodimus Prime (where are you, Rodimus? Why no contributions recently?) how to kill the dragon twice at the same time.

About the voting - the 'only keep the best score' idea beat the 'keep them all' idea. However - I forgot to mention the 'keep the top 3 scores but only allow one from each person for each game' idea, which clearly would have won if I'd allowed it as an option, so that's what I'll do. Isn't democracy lovely?

Started work on a The New Zealand Story driver for MAME. If anyone can help with it in any way please get in touch. I need board schematics, dip switch information, sprite information, RAM/ROM banking details, etc, etc. I'll make a page on this site for it once there's anything to put there.

Received a suggestion from Tony "ACL" Driessen saying:

To encourage more competition, erase all the
high scores except the highest ones for each
game.  If a clip shows a good strategy
etc. then put it in another catagory, but
keep the high scores for the best of the
best.  Plus it will cut down on bandwidth.

So I thought I'd ask your opinion on this. Let's have a vote... Click here to vote to only store the best score for each game or click here to keep it as it is. You could click on both, but it wouldn't be very useful!

Added a replay file from Mikko Hermanni Hyppönen showing all the secrets before the first mother ship on Xevious (Namco copyright).

Added a couple of recordings of Bomb Jack from BeeJay - one is a new high score (over 2 million) and one shows him being 'Lucy' - whatever works for you, Beej... :o)

Added an improved score on Timber (one player) from Clu.

Added two easter eggs from Mikko Hermanni Hyppönen - one for Star Gate and one for Sinistar.

Added a non-cheated game of Galaga from Rodimus Prime.

Added another game of Centipede by myself. I just beat my previous best score, but this one gets into a lot more scary situations!

Received two replay files for Timber from Clu. One shows him playing on his own and the other shows a 2 player game with his friend Tyger.

Added another Silkworm (Jeep) recording from Krool. Can anyone confirm that the timer is supposed to be reset to zero when you die? Apparently the bonus you get at the end of each level is based on the current value of the timer, and in MAME 0.30 the timer just keeps going up and up!

Added my recordings of Splat and Fire Trap. The Splat one is pretty awful, but in Fire Trap I manage to finish the first building.

Added my recording of Galaxian Part X.

Split off another new page for the high scores, since it was taking too long to load.

The Silkworm war between Krool and JSW has just escalated one step further...
